Friday

Friday morning will once again start with an inversion where temperatures are colder at the base and warmer at the summit.

A morning look to the west shows that a few snow showers are already in view.

For Friday, expect times of light-to-moderate snow from midday to midnight and a total accumulation of 2-4 inches. There might be enough snow for a slight refresh by Friday afternoon and/or Saturday morning. The temperature on Friday will stay chilly with a high in the teens.

Saturday

Saturday will be partly sunny and dry with a high temperature of around 30°F.

Sunday

There will be another weak storm on Sunday and we could see flakes with a few inches of accumulation any time from Saturday night through Sunday night.

Again, there might be enough snow for a slight refresh at some point on Sunday or early on Monday.

The high temperature on Sunday will be around 20°F.

Monday

Monday will be mostly sunny and dry with a high temperature in the mid-to-upper 20s.

Tuesday & Wednesday

The third weak storm should bring some snow on Tuesday and/or Tuesday night, and yet again, accumulations will likely be limited to just a few inches.

Longer Range

During the rest of December, the weather pattern will continue to be unfavorable for significant storms. Our next chance for snow could be during the week of December 23-27, but that's grasping at straws just a bit.

In terms of snow quality, we have a solid base and the low sun angle of December will continue to preserve our snowpack, so we're in an okay spot even if we do not see significant storms for the rest of the month.

In early January, the longest-range forecasts show a higher chance for colder and stormier weather. Because this stormier signal for early January has been in the longer-range forecasts for the last one to two weeks, the persistence of this signal increases confidence that it will happen.
