An active pattern will take hold across the West this week with strong storms and heavy snowfall expected from Wednesday on. The East will see a relatively quiet week with spring conditions on the slopes.

7-Day Snow Forecast:

The Western U.S. saw a break in the pattern over the weekend while a storm brought deep snow totals to Western Canada. The pattern will turn more active over the upcoming week throughout the West with heavy snow expected for most ski regions, while Tahoe looks to see the deepest totals.

Forecast for Mon (Mar 10) to Tue (Mar 11):

The storm track will continue to favor Western Canada during this period while a little bit of snowfall will also sneak into the Northwest and Northern U.S. Rockies. A weak disturbance will bring a few rain/snow showers to New England on Tuesday night.

Forecast for Wed (Mar 12) to Thu (Mar 13):

A storm will move into the West with far-reaching impacts, bringing snow from Canada all the way southward to Arizona and New Mexico. The Sierra Nevada Range including Tahoe looks to take the brunt of this storm. In the East, a weak disturbance could bring light rain/snow showers to the Northeast on Thursday.

Forecast for Fri (Mar 14) to Sat (Mar 15):

Storms will continue to impact the West with significant totals expected for the Sierra, Cascades, BC Coast Range, and the Rockies. In the East, dry conditions on Friday will give way to a storm on Saturday which will bring rain to many areas.

Outlook for Sun (Mar 16) to Thu (Mar 20):

An active pattern will continue across the West with frequent storms expected along with below-average temperatures. The East will remain in a warmer-than-average pattern with limited snow potential.
