Storm likely ending by Sunday morning/midday

Summary

The storm that dropped 6-10 inches on Saturday is pushing a bit to the north and the latest forecast data shows any additional snow ending by Sunday midday.

Update

This is another quick update, now on Saturday night at about midnight.

The storm total snowfall is about 10-11 inches at the summit and 6-7 inches at mid-mountain.

Summit:

Mid-mountain:

Earlier forecast models showed that snow could continue through Sunday midday, but the latest data now shows that most of the snow accumulation is likely over. There is a chance that another wave of snow will drop a coating to a few inches on Sunday morning through Sunday midday, and then that should be it.

So far, the storm's total snowfall of 6-11 inches was a little above the multi-model average of 4-8 inches and was below some of the high-resolution model data which showed 10-20 inches. Steamboat and the vicinity are one of the few spots in Colorado that saw snow from this storm, which is a lucky break as the storm could have easily tracked just a bit farther to the north and provided no snow.

I'll write a full update on Monday morning.
