South America Daily Snow

Rain/Snow Showers Wednesday/Sunday in the Central
Summary
The season is really winding down with primarily Spring weather and conditions of late. Outside of a few rounds of rain/snow showers, warm and dry weather is expected to continue through the next few weeks.
Short Term Forecast
A few resorts remain open (Valle Nevado, Corralco, Volcan Osorno) for skiing and riding but Spring conditions have been dominating over the last week. For the most part, warm and dry conditions will continue over the next two weeks.
A few weak systems will bring rain and snow showers to the central zone today (Wednesday) and Sunday, but accumulations will be limited to upper elevations with just a few cms. Below 1800 m the showers will fall primarily as rain.
After the showers to close out the weekend, no storms are showing up in the models for the next two weeks. Valle Nevado will be closing this weekend but I haven't seen closing dates for the other resorts yet.
Extended Forecast
As mentioned, high pressure looks to set up over the southern part of the continent for the foreseeable future. Around the end of next week, the storm track will get a bit closer to the resorts, but the models keep any action too far south during this time.
Next update early next week. I will continue posting while resorts remain open but less frequently unless there’s snow in the forecast.
