Snow returns on Tuesday afternoon/evening
Summary
Monday will be sunny and warm, then a fast-moving storm will bring snow on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night, leading to softer turns on Wednesday morning.
Update
Sunday was sunny and warm with a high temperature in the mid-to-upper 30s.
On Sunday night, temperatures dropped and snowmaking resumed, which we can see in this overnight image from Center Village.
Monday will be similar to Sunday with clear skies and a high temperature in the upper 30s.
Then on Tuesday, a fast-moving storm will bring snow during the afternoon and evening. The latest models have bumped up accumulations to 2-4 inches, and the result should be softer conditions on Wednesday morning with some fresh snow on the ground, clearing skies, and a temperature of around 10°F at sunrise, rising to about 30°F during the early afternoon.
After the storm, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be dry with comfortable temperatures (likely in the 30s), and then our next chance for snow will be around Sunday, November 17 to Tuesday, November 19. I have low confidence in the details of the forecast on and after November 17, but at least it appears that there will be storms around the western U.S., and hopefully one or many of these systems will track in our direction.
My next update will be on Tuesday morning.
