Snow on Tuesday

Summary

Following the intense snow on Sunday night, we saw just occasional snow showers on Monday. Now, the next storm will deliver 3-6 inches of snow from Tuesday into Wednesday.

Update

It's starting to feel a lot like winter!

On Monday, snowmaking continued and crews moved and compacted some of the 20 inches of snow that fell on Sunday night.

On Monday night, moisture and storm energy both increased ahead of the storm that will arrive on Tuesday. This produced one inch of fluffy accumulation just before sunrise on Tuesday morning, and light snow showers are ongoing as I write this around sunrise.

Coming up, we'll see snow showers on Tuesday with light accumulations, and then there should be periods of moderate to intense snow from Tuesday afternoon/evening through Wednesday morning. Snow totals should be 3-6 inches during this time.

From Wednesday through Friday, the weather will be mostly dry with just occasional snow showers. A storm will stall far to the south of Colorado, and this location should be far enough away that snow will not make it to Copper. Temperatures will stay cool, so snow making will continue, and we'll have to see what terrain is available on opening day, which is Friday, November 8.

Looking ahead, we may see a few snow showers on Saturday, November 9, then the weather will be dry on Sunday, November 10, and Monday, November 11. The next storm should deliver snow and colder temperatures starting on or around Tuesday, November 12.

My next update will be on Wednesday morning.
