Snow Showers in the North Next Week
Summary
A small disturbance will bring some snow showers/light snow to the mountains in the northern zone mid to late next. The potential storm for the following weekend has fizzled out and is taking a more southerly track. Overall expect warmth and sunshine for the next week to ten days.
Short Term Forecast
Well, these posts are getting shorter and shorter. There is not much to say as the season winds down. There are just a few changes since the last forecast.
Volcan Osorno looking majestic last week.
A weak disturbance will move across the other region on Thursday, bringing light snow to the higher elevations of closed resorts like Valle Nevado, Portillo, La Parva, and El Colorado. That doesn't do a whole lot for most of us with the resorts all closed. The depth in the backcountry is still solid though, so if you wanted some soft turns up high you could get after it.
The solid storm I was tracking for next weekend (10/20-22) is looking weaker now. The models are taking it farther south as well, leading to minimal impacts.
Most days will be warming up above freezing in the afternoon with sunny or partly cloudy skies. Get out end enjoy some turns this weekend because moving forward your only option is Corralco (its a good option).
