The western Alps have been getting hammered so far, and soon the focus will shift to the southern Alps of Italy and Austria. Heavy snow persists through Saturday morning before precipitation becomes more showery through the rest of the weekend. The next strong storm arrives on Monday and lasts through the middle of the week. More snow is possible later in the week as well.
