Summary

In the final week of the Australian snow season, only Perisher remains open until Sunday. Warm northwest winds and Wednesday's rain will reduce the remaining snowpack, but a cold southerly change that night will bring fresh snow into Thursday. New South Wales could receive 15+ cm, while Victoria may get 10-15+ cm, improving conditions for Perisher's closing days.

Short Term Forecast

Monday & Tuesday (23rd & 24th September)

Monday will be mostly clear in New South Wales, while Victoria will experience more clouds and a few light morning showers. Northwest winds will gradually decrease. On Tuesday, expect fine weather with high clouds and warm northwest winds.

Wednesday to Friday (25th to 27th September)

Wednesday will be wet with strong northwest winds, easing by the afternoon, followed by a cold southerly change bringing snow to low levels overnight. On Thursday, heavy snow in New South Wales will ease in the morning and taper off by the afternoon, while lighter snow in Victoria will clear, except for Mt Baw Baw, where it may persist into the afternoon. Southerly winds will be strong and cold. Friday will be mostly clear as high pressure moves through. Cold southerlies will ease by Friday,
