Sunny, settled weather with a slight dusting of snow on weekend

Summary

High pressure will ensure clear skies and calm winds for the rest of the workweek, with excellent conditions underfoot following a weekend snowfall of 15-20cm. Cold temperatures have kept the snow machines busy. The weekend weather looks promising too, with a few weak storms expected to bring a light dusting of snow, mainly to Victorian resorts.

Short Term Forecast

Wednesday to Friday (31st July to 2nd August)

Wednesday is all sunshine with a fading light south-southeast breeze.

Thursday is a perfectly sunny and serene day.

Friday continues the sunny conditions with a northwest breeze picking up.

This Weekend (3rd to 4th August)

Saturday will see Victoria with a mostly cloudy day with a weak front that will produce light snow showers around 1400-1500m in the afternoon as northwest winds shift to the west. In NSW, there will be high clouds with the front arriving by evening, bringing at most a light snow shower.

On Sunday, another mild front might deliver additional light snow showers, predominantly affecting resorts in Victoria.

Extended Forecast

High pressure will maintain generally clear and dry conditions until late next week, when minor weather systems are expected to return, potentially bringing light snow showers to the higher elevations.

Thanks for reading. I'll continue to provide these forecasts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout the southern hemisphere season.
