NEW: Lightning Distance Rings
The "Lightning Risk" map overlay now includes distance rings, which are defaulted to center around your current location.
You can also tap anywhere on the map to adjust the center point of the rings to view the approximate distance of nearby lightning risk and strikes.
Getting Started
- Tap the "Maps" tab.
- Tap the overlay button.
- Tap "Lightning Risk".
- Tap anywhere on the map.
Here's an example of lightning with distance rings during a storm in Colorado on August 6, 2024:
Tap (mobile) or hover (desktop) over the map to view the lightning risk, nearby lightning strikes, and the distance rings:
Make sure you're updated to the latest version of the OpenSnow app (App Store / Google Play > OpenSnow > Update) or visit the OpenSnow website (OpenSnow.com).
