NEW: Hail Size Map

View the maximum expected hail size over the past two hours in the United States.

This overlay is useful for tracking nearby hail and if you should move your car indoors to protect against significant hail damage.

Getting Started

  1. Tap the "Maps" tab.
  2. Tap the overlay button.
  3. Tap "Hail Size".
  4. Scrub the bottom slider.

Here's an example of the hail size during a storm in Colorado on July 18, 2024:

Tap (mobile) or hover (desktop) over the map to view the estimated hail size:

Make sure you're updated to the latest version of the OpenSnow app (App Store / Google Play > OpenSnow > Update) or visit the OpenSnow website (OpenSnow.com).
