Thursday
On Thursday morning, there will be 1-2 inches of fresh snow on the upper mountain. This snow fell on Wednesday night as showers formed near and north of the mountain.
Most of Thursday will be dry with partly cloudy skies and a high temperature in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Some showers will hang around early and late in the day, but I don't think they will bring much accumulating precipitation.
Thursday Night & Friday
On Thursday night and Friday morning, I think there will be 3-6 inches of snow accumulation, which means that there should be some fresh snow to enjoy for Friday's first chair.
If amounts are less than 6 inches, it'll likely be easy to feel the firm base, and if there is more snow, then conditions could feel softer.
On Friday during the day, storm energy will rotate over Colorado, so another 1-3+ inches may fall, though the setup for the storm isn't perfect for Steamboat, so luck will be needed to get higher totals.
Friday's temperature will be in the upper teens to low 20s, making it feel more like winter than late April.
Friday Night & Saturday
On Friday night and Saturday, the second part of the storm will continue to bring snow to Colorado, though I think that the highest snow totals will be well east and south of Steamboat, and I expect snow accumulations will be just 1-3 additional inches on Friday night and Saturday.
With chilly temperatures in the 20s through Saturday, snow conditions could stay reasonably soft and fun, though I do NOT think Saturday will be a deep powder day.
Sunday Closing Day
For Sunday's closing day festivities, the weather should be pretty darn good with a high temperature in the 30s to low 40s, partly-to-mostly sunny skies, and just a bit of a gusty wind at the summit.
