Thursday

On Thursday morning, there will be a dusting of new snow on the upper mountain. This snow fell on Wednesday night as showers formed near and north of the mountain.

Most of Thursday will be dry with partly cloudy skies and a high temperature in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Some showers will hang around early and late in the day, but I don't think they will bring much accumulating precipitation.

Thursday Night & Friday

On Thursday night and Friday morning, I think there will be 2-5 inches of snow accumulation, which means that there should be some fresh snow to enjoy for Friday's first chair.

Then, during the day on Friday, another 2-5 inches should accumulate, and a lot of this snow may fall during the late afternoon or early evening. This could create a 'last chair, best chair' type of setup, but I have low confidence in the timing of the snow, so we'll see what happens.

Friday's temperature will be in the upper teens to low 20s, making it feel more like winter than late April, and snow conditions could wind up being decently soft if the snow totals come in on the higher end.

Friday Night & Saturday

On Friday night and Saturday, the second part of the storm will continue to bring snow to Colorado, and Copper will be on the edge of the deeper snow. With low confidence, I'll pencil in 3-6 inches of additional snow on Friday night.

If totals come in on the higher end of the range, and/or if more of Friday afternoon's snowfall is pushed back to Friday evening, then Saturday morning could offer soft/deep/fun conditions.

Saturday's temperature will be in the 20s with snow showers ending and a chance for some sunshine later in the day.

Longer Range

Sunday's weather should be pretty darn good with a high temperature in the 30s and partly-to-mostly sunny skies.

Then, during the final two weeks of April, there could be a weak storm around April 21-22 and maybe a stronger storm around April 28-30.

Remember that the mountain will be open for a while longer, with closing day on May 11th.
