Updated 4 weeks ago Bob Ambrose
Under mostly sunny skies with throngs of smiling faces and outrageous costumes, Sunshine’s 90th Slush Cup closed out the epic 21/22 season in the Canadian Rockies. Those smiling faces were likely the result of a seven-month season-long ‘perma-grin’ of plentiful powder days and above average snowpack that brought phenomenal spring conditions. Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights…

2021-2022 Season Recap
Updated 1 month ago Alan Smith
Now that we're in the last week of April and we're in more of a "spring showery" pattern, it seemed like a good time to wrap up the season for BC forecasting. Overall, this was a near-average snow season for BC as a whole with heavier snow around Revelstoke and Rogers Pass and lighter snow across Southeast BC and the Coast Range with Whistler slightly below average.

It's always sad to sign off for the season. This season was full of upside and downside swings, large events followed by drought periods. Chasing Powder was essential to staying in the deep and that even included a last-minute trip to Austria. There is some snow in the forecast!

That is it for the 2021-2022 ski and ride season in the Mid-Atlantic. It has been a great season with plenty of fresh turns in a climatologically near-normal snow and precipitation season. January and February were our best months this year, with seasonable and cooler than average temperatures keeping snow on the slopes. Read on for more updates about what happened this season…

2021/2022 Season Recap
Updated 1 month ago Bob Ambrose
The 21/22 La Nina Winter pretty much delivered as advertised with above average snowfall west of the Continental Divide, and generally below average snowfall for resorts east of the Divide. Highlights included a snowy December for the westside putting many operations in good shape for the Holidays. East of the Divide saw one of the snowiest April’s in memory, but it might have come a tad too late.

Final Post of the 2021-2022 Season
Updated 1 month ago Alan Smith
Snowpack is near to above average across most of the PNW as of late April. It has been an inconsistent, feast-or-famine type winter though with heavy early season and late season snowfall, but we also had a significant mid-season drought. Looking forward, a storm will impact the region Friday night-Saturday with snow above 4k in WA & 5k in OR. We'll see a break Sun, then another storm arrives Mon.
